i currently have an *old* Logitech MX510 mouse, which is a wonderful mouse but is getting a bit old and i'm feeling reading for a change. i've looked at a few other mice online, but just wanted to know what you guys use/think would be the best/most realistic (under $80) replacement for it. thanks

Hard to go against the logitech G5 even if it is "old"; I mean logitech has the G9 too but I personally don't like those changeable grips it has. If you like the feel of your current mouse, the G5 will feel right at home for you. Razer also makes some decent mice but they have a totally different feel from the logitechs so it would take some getting used to.

Just for reference, my mouse for my desktop is an Ideazon Reaper and the one for my laptop is a Logitech MX1000

yeah i've been looking at some of the razer mice and whatnot, but i feel hesitant to buy something like a mouse online without being able to get a feel for it first, hence i'm mainly looking to see what people use and like. but i'll go out today and give the G5/9 a feel and see what i think, as well as any razer mice that the store might have.

The MX518 is one of the more popular mice with people around me. It's basically the same mouse as the G5 but has 400 less dpi and no changeable weights (LOL). I'd buy another 518 if mine died, so that's probably what I'd recommend. It's also cheaper than the G5; just think of it as a "baby brother."
