Melee Crew

Me and NEBS are trying to start a crew of Melee competitive players. Come on down to the MP room at central to learn how to do all of the competitive techniques with your favorite character in Melee. We probably will not be playing alot of Brawl bt we will be play SC IV. Dont get me wrong, Brawl is an ok game but after playing Melee, Im just sick of Brawl. .

huh? brawl is newer than melee but you are sick of brawl AFTER playing melee

yea because its no where near as competitive as Melee. now dont get me wrong, Brawl can be fun but its so much slower in pace than Melee. Also, combos are near impossible in Brawl since you can infinitely air dodge (which in my personal opinion, was a mistake). Obviously, Brawl is for the casual crowd but thats ok. It doesnt make it not fun, its just not as fun as Melee once you get into the competitive aspect of it. And yes Im sick of Brawl after playing Melee because i started back playing Melee about 2 weeks ago and after playing Melee, Brawl just isnt as fun anymore.

I thought about posting this somewhere else but I doubt anyone new will see it, though if the normal users have friends that don't post on these boards and like melee or would be interested in getting better let me know.

 

Anyway, I'm seriously interested in going to tournaments again and practicing with a crew. For the moment it appears the next tourney I'll be attending will be March 21st in Greensboro. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with the WCU crew we've already put together (me, eyce, kazka, mole, and felix) but it would be amazing if we could get more talent to represent the area and state. Everyone I've been playing with has already gotten much better in a short amount of time, and I assume we will begin regularly attending tournaments. There will be another tourney at ASU in April which gives any new people plenty of time to become competitive players.

 

Again, It's doubtful with the small amount of people active on these boards that anyone will care, but I have to try.

 

oh, nearly forgot...Kazka, you remember that freshman that played melee and came to a few of the saturday events a while back? I think he'd be a good candidate to join. Lemme know what you think and if you have any idea how to get in touch with him.

Hell yea man, I think adding him to the crew would be a great idea. Ill try to find a way to get in touch with him. Can't wait for this saturday, gonna try my luck with Peach against you NEBS.

Living here is good and bad. We're not really close to a lot of the NC smashers, but are to lots of other states. Duluth Georgia holds big regional tourneys (the tipped off series) and is only 2 1/2 hours from here. Tipped off 4 just happened and the pot was over a thousand. Darkrain (falcon <3) won singles and 650ish dollars. Peepee and Lozr won teams and nearly 500. So we def have to go to tipped off 5, probably around the next ASU tourney time.

Yeah man, just gotta free up some of that time of yours... You hafta start lettin me know when we can smash, and if it's mostly saturdays, then we'll just have to crew practice more instead of the usual stuff.
