Bitey Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 Change server to a vs server. Gets more action that way. Quote
Nickname Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 Let's open a campaign server in addition to a vs server. I would assume we have more than ample resources to do so. And put it on expert mode. Quote
Scrappa Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 Let's open a campaign server in addition to a vs server. I would assume we have more than ample resources to do so. And put it on expert mode. If anyone wants to play L4D with 3 other skilled shooters and smart team players, add Scrappa to your steam friends. We have 3 players and are in need of a solid 4th for expert runs. Quote
Phonetically Phamous (dice Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 awesome we got the test server up Quote
Kappamerc Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 Excellent... Guess nominations don't have to happen now lol... I win! Quote
Ephraim Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 I can't figure out how to log on to the test server. I'm a noob. Explain it to me like you would to Forest Gump. Quote
Oh Malley Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 I'll definitely have to check into this when I get a chance. Get another guy from campus to play as well. Quote
Nickname Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 Can someone update this post with all the L4d/L4d2 servers and their IPs? Quote
MasterP Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 I turned the L4D2 servers off because Steam matchmaking wasn't using them much and CSS was having issues. It didn't really fix the CSS issues so I'll go turn them back on. Below are the L4D/L4D2 servers we are currently hosting: L4D #1 - gaming.wcu.edu:27031 L4D #2 - gaming.wcu.edu:27032 L4D #3 - gaming.wcu.edu:27033 L4D #4 - gaming.wcu.edu:27034 L4D #5 - gaming.wcu.edu:27035 L4D2 #1 - gaming.wcu.edu:27036 L4D2 #2 - gaming.wcu.edu:27037 L4D2 #3 - gaming.wcu.edu:27038 L4D2 #4 - gaming.wcu.edu:27039 L4D2 #5 - gaming.wcu.edu:27040 L4D2 #6 - gaming.wcu.edu:27041 L4D2 #7 - gaming.wcu.edu:27042 L4D2 #8 - gaming.wcu.edu:27043 L4D2 #9 - gaming.wcu.edu:27044 L4D2 #10 - gaming.wcu.edu:27045 L4D2 #11 - gaming.wcu.edu:27046 L4D2 #12 - gaming.wcu.edu:27047 L4D2 #13 - gaming.wcu.edu:27048 L4D2 #14 - gaming.wcu.edu:27049 I've put them in the OP for convenience. Also, if you join our steamgroup you'll get them on the main menu. They are completely unmodded, stock servers which is becoming increasingly hard to find these days. Quote
Phonetically Phamous (dice Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 Steam matchmaking wasn't using them much well thats no good. Quote
MasterP Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 Steam matchmaking wasn't using them much well thats no good. There's nothing we can do about that, they're set up correctly. Valve made significant changes to the matchmaking system a couple months ago which basically did two things: make it incredibly hard to get a non-friends game going and make it almost impossible to get a server in your region. I've complained to Valve several times and they've done everything from reinstalling the game to reinstalling Steam and (of course) none of that worked. What's happened is they've coded out sv_region and are doing the region selection on their servers, poorly. If you type sv_region in console you'll likely find that it's set to -1. If you set it to east coast (0) or global (255) it will autoreset it back to -1. I think they partition regions according to ISPs, which is defeats the purpose of actually having a matchmaking system. I might be wrong on that, idk, but that's what it looks like IMO. Quote
