I am always logged in and can play the 3 games I have downloaded but I can't access a buy page or get anything but free downloads, is there any way I can uninstall steam so that I can reinstall it without losing all my friends, my maps, and my games? Phonetically Phamous (dice Posted December 13, 2008 Report Posted December 13, 2008 if you uninstall steam you loose all your files,, but it lets you dl them back. Pull your maps folder out on your desktop and just put the folder back in the steam folder after the reinstall. just reinstall your games your friends are tied to your login, so when ever you are logged in, no matter which pc you are on,, your friends will still be in the list Quote

Falcon Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 yeah, steam hasn't really been all that friendly... i woulda said earlier go into Program Files\Steam\ and copy a whole bunch o junk and then redoing steam... but aside from that now that you done did that... good luck and have fun Quote

It also came with Half-Life 2 mods and uhm Day of Defeat: Source. I just dont know what to do. Quote

Also theres a trojan going around that may be causeing the trouble i personaly have had no problems with steam but gl with yours Quote
YouWinGameOver Posted December 18, 2008 Author Report Posted December 18, 2008 It was originally a friends account but its mine and has been since before I had admin here...I want to say he officially gave me the account last year around this time, the account is set up top my e-mail and I have finally received an e-mail back. It basically says that I have to upgrade IE6 to IE7 and it should fix itself. Quote
