MasterP Posted July 8, 2009 Author Report Posted July 8, 2009 Its cool for Wii standards but in real world standards...not that exciting By real world standards you have to be running Linux on the PS3 to use it. For Wii you can run it straight from Nintendo's main menu. With the advances made in the last 6 months, if the Wii had a faster CPU it would be the dominant console as far as homebrew is concerned. In 5 minutes you can take a brand new Wii and erase 100% of Nintendo's OS off it, play copied games without a modchip, and make it so the Wii is unbootable without your SD card. Not to mention movie streaming and internet radio. Did I mention I can play PS1 games on it? Quote

No dont get me wrong thats really cool, I was basically saying that its a shame that it can be taken much further than that do to hardware limitations Quote
MasterP Posted July 8, 2009 Author Report Posted July 8, 2009 No dont get me wrong thats really cool, I was basically saying that its a shame that it can be taken much further than that do to hardware limitations That's the only thing really hurting the Wii at this point. Most of the multi-platform games skip it because it's GPU isn't powerful and the homebrew scene has about hit the limit of what the console can do. I mean they're literally replacing Nintendo's firmware to increase compatibility and unlock features. Quote
Lemm Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 (edited) I have not tried the dosbox but I have around 130 wii games on my external hard drive.. including the new GH5 that just came out the other day. I have every NES game that ever came out.... along with some SNES and Genesis games.... I can also play all online games FOR FREE... that's right Nintendo doesn't add on any BS charges for playing multiplayer on the internet Wii is under rated...... but for the best experience it's PC all the way Edited September 7, 2009 by Lemm Quote
