Nickname Posted September 22, 2009 Author Report Posted September 22, 2009 I think somewhere around midseason last year the Panthers forgot how to defend- both on offense and defense. Luckily their running game was so good last year it didn't matter. But if you look back to the season opener against philly you will notice that Delhomme was hurried, flushed and/or sacked nearly every play. Great defense by the eagles or just a terrible job protecting the QB by the Panthers? Probably a bit of both but a guy like Delhomme, who clearly is not a superstar and will never be a Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, or Drew Brees, needs extra time in the pocket to line up the good shots or he will (and does) throw like crap. Give him the extra time and he's at least decent.
