Thor Posted November 2, 2009 Report Posted November 2, 2009 This is just an Idea i have, kinda of a remake of one i did couple years which was a remake of a previous flyer. I know not great but its just a general design I wanted to make in publisher vs. the first version I made a year or so ago mostly in paint. Quote
Phonetically Phamous (dice Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 these are so eye catchy once hung. also (else the bottom) they are B&W and anyone can print them. AKA free from labs, or at least the ones in belk. Thanks for the early start. I like seeing progress early and not everyone scrambling at the end. Kudos to Thor!!! Quote
Ephraim Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 I wouldn't mind seeing a little more color, but it looks nice. Personally, I don't think the schedule is necessary. After all, one of the reasons the last batch were so late was because we waited so long to approve the schedule. Quote
melatonin Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 Looks alright. Maybe replace the black outline of LAN with purple? Quote
MasterP Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 AKA free from labs, or at least the ones in belk. Belk labs went to pay-to-print this year. Quote
newrayz Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 (edited) you all have to pay to print??? we get 20k (pages) free black and white, along with a certain print balance every semester for color. where is your tuition going? lol Edited November 3, 2009 by NuRayZ Quote
Thor Posted November 3, 2009 Author Report Posted November 3, 2009 We got $70 and a print card that didnt work and said "SGA aminia Club" Quote
MasterP Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 All UNC schools have pay-to-print. Quote
Thor Posted November 3, 2009 Author Report Posted November 3, 2009 These are different variations of the flyer according to comments, the schedule is mosly a space filler. Quote
melatonin Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 Maybe fill the LAN letters with orange to make it more eye catching? Quote
Thor Posted November 3, 2009 Author Report Posted November 3, 2009 Just for some info a B&W = 5-10 cents Color = 15 cents We get about 125 copies Quote
Phonetically Phamous (dice Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 125 copys, what happened to the 250? Quote
Thor Posted November 3, 2009 Author Report Posted November 3, 2009 Out of the 2 semesters ive been marketing they always said 120, if we posted in sylva then 250 for sure Quote
MasterP Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 We could always ask Keith for more. Quote
Nickname Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 when I was MA it was 150 then I printed 100 b&w ones myself from my own printer Quote
ManlyMoose Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 If you head over to SCC they still have free printing in BW at their library. Quote
MasterP Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 Keep in mind that campus printing is much different this year than it was last year. All the printers are managed by a 3rd party company that the school pays per sheet printed. They can no longer directly eat the cost and write it off and any page printed for us has to be budgeted. Ephraim Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 It might be wise to remove the words "cash prizes." I don't know if we can get in troble over that, but I don't think we should take a chance. Quote
MasterP Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 It might be wise to remove the words "cash prizes." I don't know if we can get in troble over that, but I don't think we should take a chance. After getting screwed by saying we'd have pizza it's probably best if the only things definately laid out on it are the date, times, and games. Quote
Falcon Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 Personally, I don't think the schedule is necessary. But if you do include one, I'd say divvy it up between a PC column and a Console column (and maybe give a rough guesstimate as to how long a tourney will run). That way you won't end up with people who skip the registration and show up who wonder why they can't play two games they thought would be back-to-back (3pm, 4pm), or who wanted to play CoD4 PC and find only CoD4 Console... Also, about the prizes - maybe say "tournament prizes offered" or something... it's more generalized... Quote
Falcon Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 Also, it's a 1, the number one, not a L, the letter between K and M... geez. Quote
Thor Posted November 5, 2009 Author Report Posted November 5, 2009 The last flyer i did have the tourneys divied up i was thinking of doing it that way again just wanted to see how this format worked out. Quote
