As you all know, we have our new server almost up and running. The new server is about 200 times better than our old one and we are able to host many new games. If you are unaware, we will be hosting 3 CS 1.6 servers. We will continue to have our traditional 1.6 server, but of course, running much better  We will also be hosting 2 new servers, a 24/7 de_dust2 server as well as a gungame server. All of the current admins will still have admin on those servers.

All the new servers are in process of being finished and should be up soon. :D

reinstall steam completely (save your config.cfg file first), after you uninstall thru add/remove programs, delete the steam folder from c:\program files. Then reinstall steam completely.

I did this and now when I try to open the game, it starts to open and then just completely shuts down. Basically the same thing as before, but without the error window popping up.

Edit: I lied, its giving me the same error message :(

Do what major posted.

I think when I had XP/Vista I had to force it to run in D3D at really low resolution. When it used default settings it blue screened my computer.

Yea in fact, im sure I've had this same problem one time after reinstalled xp , ages ago. I believe I had to put in a run command in the game to make it run D3D and not OpenGL.
