Mr. Freeman Posted March 4, 2007 Report Posted March 4, 2007 [MOTD/General Rules] This server is run by the Western Carolina University Gaming Club. For more information, see http://www.wcugaming.org/ Server rules: 1. Cheating of any form is strictly prohibited and will result in a permanent ban. 2. No racism, sexism, religious defamation, or trolling will be tolerated. 3. No spamming grenades, voicecom, say, or teamsay. 4. Intentional team-flashing will result in a slay. 5. Map exploits (sky-walking, boosting through floors leaving the play area of the map) are regarded as cheating and will result in an instant slay. 6. Do not argue your punishment with administrators. Please realize that we are here to enjoy the game and help others to do the same. 7. No pornographic or shock-imagery sprays are allowed. 8. Terrorists must attempt to plant the bomb on bomb defusal (de_xxxx) maps. Spawn campers will be slain. 9. Counter-terrorists must attempt to rescue the hostages on hostage (cs_xxxx) maps. Spawn campers will be slain. 10. Team stacking will not be tolerated. Clans will be broken up by admins. Punisment: -Any of the above offenses may result in a slap, slay, mute, or other forms of punishment. If the violation is repeated or severe a player may be banned from play on WCU servers. -If a player is issued a permanent ban (permaban) he or she may dispute the ban on the official WCU forums. -If you are banned please wait 24 hours before posting on our forums. This is to ensure that non-permabanned players do not contest non-disputable bans. -Any player may be banned for up to 7 days without the possibility of ban repeal. Help/Admin Abuse: -If no administrator is present at the time you are playing and you require assistance, please join the WCU IRC channel and request help. The instructions can be found on the WCU forums. -If you feel you are the victim of administrator abuse please post a thread concerning this on the WCU forums. [Admin Rules] To help us deal with the sometimes overabundant use of admin commands on the Source server, please be sure to follow these simple guidelines: 1: Use commands sparingly! 2: Do not initiate mapvotes when the server is healthy. Only initiate votes if the server empties, and make sure to let the map complete normally (Initiate a vote for -At end of map-). 3: Do not excessively use the @ (Ma_Say) command. This function is available strictly to assist you in dealing with server-wide issues when attention and global-reaching chat are important. 4: Use restraint in using the @@ (Whisper) command to players. This should, if possible, be used instead of the @ or @@@ commands as it deals directly, and only, to the player you need to speak with. 5: Do NOT use the @@@ (CSay) command except in extreme situations. 6: If a player is committing a minor offense escalate your punishments (IE: Do not start with a ban. Start with a large slap and work your way up through slays and kicks.) 7: You may give any player up to a 24-hour ban with no demo proof required. However, please use the ban commands ONLY as a last resort. 8: If you issue a permanent ban please be prepared with demos showing reasonable proof of the player's offenses. 9: If you have any further questions or require clarification, please refer to GXTI, Mr. Freeman, or Kuros for more information. ------- I hope this helps, folks. Have fun!

Players may be moved by admins at any time in order to balance the teams. 11. Players may not use external communication (Ventrilo, Teamspeak, etc.) to relay spectator info to living players. All players suspected of being involved in "ghosting" will automatically be banned for a week. Players may be banned for up to a week for non-cheating offenses, which may not be appealed. Bans over a week in duration may be appealed on the forums, at which time the council leader will review logs and demos, and make a final decision. For example, start with a warning, then slay, then kick, then ban for a day. 7: Annoying players should be muted. Do not argue with them, slap, slay, or kick them when a mute would suffice. Muted players who change their name to gain attention should be banned for a day. 7: You may give any player up to a 24-hour ban with no demo proof required. Sephypoo Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 I may be too late on this post as I am very lazy... but I was wondering when the ingame Motd will be changed to reflect this, people have been *edited*ing that since it doesnt currently state anything about teamstacking we shouldnt be able to enforce it -.-

Bunny hopping is not allowed except on fy map, cs_deagle5, scoutzknivez 3, scoutzknivez, or any of the awp maps. Doing so on a map outside of these will result in a slay. Only initiate votes if the server empties, and make sure to let the map complete normally (Initiate a vote for -At end of map-). Late night hours when you the server is empty you can change it on the next round, preferably to a popular map like de_dust2, cs_office. 3: Do not excessively use the @ (Ma_Say) command. This function is available strictly to assist you in dealing with server-wide issues when attention and global-reaching chat are important. 4: Use restraint in using the @@ (Whisper) command to players. Also for the sake of clarity and common sense, ask another admin during the review process to view the demo to get a second. Sometimes people think they saw what they wanted to see. 9: If you have any further questions or require clarification, please refer to Brian, Liam, Bitey, Mr. Freeman, Fascist Flakes, or Kuros for more information. EDIT: A few minor updates and clarifications made so we won't have trolls or any other unsavory types splitting hairs at our own expense.
