ZaplinG Posted August 25, 2007 Report Posted August 25, 2007 Since it looks like I will be in charge of these two again this year, here are what the setups are going to be for the two games: Super Smash Bros. Melee MATCHES * 1v1 * Best 2 out of 3 (If time allows. If not, it will be single elim) * 4 stock * 8 minute limit * No items * Players must use the same character for the duration of the tournament * After the first match, the loser will let the winner know what stage they want to play on. * Any unneccesary pausing of the game will result in a forfeit of that match. STAGES * Final Destination * Kirby's Dreamland * Fountain of Dreams * Kento Pokemon Stadium. * Yoshi's Story * Stages will be chosen at random for the first match (Battlefield has been taken out due to popular request) Starcraft - Broodwar The starcraft stuff will be up later once I do some research. It will pretty much be in the same format as last year (bo3, single elim/finals bo5), but I'm not sure what maps to include just yet. We still have a bit of time before the LAN actually starts, so if you have any suggestions (maps to add/remove, tournament structure, ect.) just let me know on this thread as I will be checking it fairly frequently. Also, if you would like to see another RTS game in the upcoming LAN other than Starcraft, let me know here so we can bang out the details of whether or not it is doable. Quote
Fascist Flakes (Jagr) Posted August 25, 2007 Report Posted August 25, 2007 I have AoE2 and the Expansion, so that is feasible as well. Quote
Bitey Posted August 25, 2007 Report Posted August 25, 2007 As do I woot woot Also I like the things they added in the second, walls with gates, formations and all that good stuff Quote
Fascist Flakes (Jagr) Posted August 25, 2007 Report Posted August 25, 2007 Lol walls and formations. You won't last past 20 min Quote
ZaplinG Posted August 25, 2007 Author Report Posted August 25, 2007 uh oh, sounds like a challenge! Quote
Bitey Posted August 25, 2007 Report Posted August 25, 2007 lol I dont usually rush people I like to build up... but rush I can do fastest time was 12 minutes on hard. Quote
ZaplinG Posted August 25, 2007 Author Report Posted August 25, 2007 as a starcraft player, even 12 minutes seems an extremely long period of time for a rush entire quality games are played in 12 minutes, haha Quote
Bitey Posted August 25, 2007 Report Posted August 25, 2007 I know 12 minutes was the end time for the game, I dont like when games go that fast, it gives me a headache, I like to take my time and plan out strategies, not just see how many soldiers I can pop out in 2 minutes lol Quote
Fascist Flakes (Jagr) Posted August 25, 2007 Report Posted August 25, 2007 Lol facing computers Bitey . 9 min feudals are about the minimum for AoE2, typically having an advancement by that time as well and ready to build an archery range or something similar as well. Quote
