Phonetically Phamous (dice Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 So what maps do i need to warm up on so i can win the SS headset? hows the source tourney going to be layed out? Quote
Brian Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 Because we are going to have more people than ever this time there will be two opening rounds, splitting the tourney up between de_dust2 and de_inferno, the top half from each team on both maps will mix up to the opposite side on de_cpl_mill for the next match. Then the semi-final may possibly be de_nuke, de_contra, de_train, de_russka, de_lostemplepro, de_cbble, de_Chateau, it will probably be 5v5 or 6v6 from at the semi-final, it's yall pick there and on the final. Writhen Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 Wouldnt there be a big change from regular gameplay simply by players trying to win a certain prize, not just when competing against their own teammates but against the scoreboards & kill count in general. Maybe there should be certain rules for a better challenge and competition to settle in more of a fair type of way. (Not that i would be attending or anything , im just saying) I might just be missunderstanding, correct me if im wrong. Quote
Phonetically Phamous (dice Posted September 13, 2007 Author Report Posted September 13, 2007 so whats the simi file map... thats the one i cared about. you preatty much just said it will be any map hosted on our server. PS: again, writhen,, your 5 post have been comments about how not to do something... how about input onto how to do it since you seem to know of a better way.... Quote
Renton's Big Bro Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 I think you wouldn't be able to go by team wins at all. One because of the team balancer, people aren't on the team for all or even most sometimes of the wins. And if you disabled that, you'd have people gettin in a deep hole and not gettin into the next round fair. You kinda have to go with top halves. As much as I like what your saying and everything, but you can't count rnds... or actually you can. Ok how about this... We get a new hlstats setup for the lan... Starts stats at 0... top so many move on? Then you get for winning rnds? That sound good? I'm sure we could get people to pitch in for this... Quote
Kuros Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 Haha the team balancer isn't enabled in competitive play. Quote
Writhen Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 Halves sounds good i guess...i really like the opposite team switchup. but Back on the negativism "maybe there shoudl be a cartain rule for the better of the competition and challenge" bs, i take it back to or maybe you could also have team captians / brackets or 5 on 5 matches / 6 on 6 aslong as you have an even amount of players competing. maybe say best 2 teams win prizes, mvp winner takes home SS headset. idk not sayin it shouldnt or should be done what way, just a question regarding there being a differ between gameplay1 and gameplay2. MasterP Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 Haha the team balancer isn't enabled in competitive play. OMG THANK YOU. You left it enabled one LAN and it was terrible. Quote
Kuros Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 I left nothing running one lan. That was before I was running things thank you very much. Quote
Nickname Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 but it WAS still pretty terrible... though it saved me from elimination 1 round Quote
Kuros Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 I'm downloading the CAL server configs for both servers. That way they will be more inline with competitive play. Quote
Brian Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 KK, I would really like to do 5v5 Contra on the final round with cal configs, it would be swell Quote
MasterP Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 I'm downloading the CAL server configs for both servers. That way they will be more inline with competitive play. Please don't use their anti-cheat. It's pretty worthless (doesn't even catch the spin-hack) but also lags the server REALLY bad. Quote
Phonetically Phamous (dice Posted September 18, 2007 Author Report Posted September 18, 2007 VAC doesent work on LAN and everyone will be hovering around the finely ppl anywho to watch.. so its VERY VERY rare somone would try to hack via lan. that is unless they wont their PC tossed out the 3ed floor window! Brian Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 Master P, have you ever played with Cal's ACS? It works pretty *edited* good actually, to the point it can tell if you are using a ringer or not. It won't let you log onto it if you are using an injection hack either so I doubt it missed an aimbot as old as one that still spins you around. Additionally it works much like VAC with the delay in banning, take team Movedown for instance, at the end of the regular season they had everyone of their matches over turned before the calculations for playoffs was done. That's beside the point, you couldn't use it even if you did download it, it can only be used for matches you are scheduled in. Quote
