ZaplinG 0
I drew a nice picture showing how the brackets will be assuming 32 people play: The tournament will be run in 150cc Grand Prix style with all tracks played for each level (ex. First round will be all mushroom cup tracks, second round will be all flower cup tracks, ect.) First place nets 9 points, Second gets 6, Third gets 3, Fourth (Last) gets 1. The top two people with highest cumulative scores on each level advance. Scores will be reset for each level. All shortcuts (intended by the game or not) are allowed. If there is a discrepancy about character selection, a rock/paper/scissors best out of 3 will be held to settle it. If you have any questions, feel free to post them here. I was thinking about a battle tournament too, but I'm not sure if time will allow. A rough estimate for verses on 2 tvs is about 2 hours (3 tvs = 1 hour), so I dont know. I'd prefer it if races were held on n64's rather than wii's, just because they are what everyone plays on, controller-wise.

MasterP 0
final round: BACKWARDS. just for kicks. So long as it's not that *edited* Yoshi track I'm all for this. I'd be nice to have a battle tournament but the winner of battle is usually less determined by skill and moreso relies on the luck of the items you get early in the round. The better battler will always win 90% of the time. And no backwards tracks... haha. That will just mess everyone the ef up.
TrebuShae 0
At least tell me all of this whenever I'm sitting three feet away from you. Gaaaawd, making up rules without me. I didn't say you could do that. =/

I know someone in Central that can get (no joke I counted on multiple occassions) 7-12 stars in a row. No cheating devices were used and it was someone else's cartridge. When he doesn't have a star he sucks. Sure you can wait him out but you can't dodge forever.

It's not my fault you chose not to -- and master p, you can kind of choose what item you get by stopping the reels quickly. Also, there is a bit of lag time before you can use two consecutive items when you can hit him even if he has two stars.

This I've learned and have gotten quite good at sneaking green shells in.
Ephraim 0
I heard there is a way to skip about half the track on the Rainbow Road by jumping over the siderails. Is this true or am I just going senile?

Is this true or am I just going senile? To the best of my knowledge this is true. Don't have a 64 on campus to confirm though. If you miss the jump though it's pretty much a guaranteed loss of the race.
Chupathingy 0
I know how to skip half the track on wario stadium. I wasn't however, aware of the rainbow road one.

Rainbow Road is MUCH easier to skip than Wario Stadium but the penalty for screwing up is much more severe. As in you fall for 20-40 seconds then get returned to the point you jumped from. ZaplinG 0
bumping this so people can't complain if someone busts a shortcut on them they didnt know about it. The link above has a list of all the known useful shortcuts.
TrebuShae 0
Don't try shortcuts unless you use them regularly. It's hit or miss. Miss and you lose... unless everyone else sucks. But yeah you can easily cheat Rainbow Road. Liek woh.
