TrebuShae Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 Guys and gals, just asking you all to be patient due to sudden changes in consoles. I know I'm no Oh Malley but I've been ensured that I'm entirely capable of managing this position. I hope to pick up right where he has left off and continue bringing more interest into console gaming and the WCU Gaming Club. Knowing this, I insist that all of you please, please, PLEASE be open about ANY concerns or questions that you may have as well as any new ideas to generate the club population. I am willing to help anyone as well as accept any help that is offered to me. Thank you very much! - Shae Quote
Adam Faulkner Posted June 21, 2010 Report Posted June 21, 2010 # 1 Consoles are big, DO IT BIG! # 2 Consoles are not PC Gaming, We understand that, but do not neglect that side of the events. Make sure they all work together, time is everything at the lan events. Please try to schedule along the same time-line as PC's so that people can bounce between in different tournaments. # 3 Not too much noise. Make sure that people can play together and that we can still hear across the room. Make them wear headsets or something. # 4 NO DDR or games like that in the PC area. its hard to play with the screen bouncing. # 5 Ask for help. If you need it please ask, (You started off well with this post) # 6 Get sponsors. If you have enough, Help others help everyone. # 7 Dont win your prizes. Whats the point of trying to bring in new people if your going to win the free stuff.. If someone new wins a prize then 99% of the time they will become an active forum and gaming club member. ITS PROVEN! #8 plan for the lans, PLAN layouts, Plan Brackets, Prize Handouts, and PLEASE plan for the safely arrival of equipment and all the needed items. Most importantly have fun with it. Nobody likes a grouch. Quote

Ephraim Posted September 28, 2011 Report Posted September 28, 2011 Wait, we had a female vice president? slowpoke.jpg Quote
Oh Malley Posted September 28, 2011 Report Posted September 28, 2011 Wait, we had a female vice president? slowpoke.jpg Yep. The term I sat back for the year and didn't hold office. I spurred for the change in title since all of console gaming was under one person while each other council leader was responsible for one game/server. I was the first CVP, and Shae was my 2nd that year. She took over the next year since I stepped back, hoping other console gamers would step up and take leadership positions before I graduated and left WCU. /History lesson. Quote
Ephraim Posted September 28, 2011 Report Posted September 28, 2011 I know. I was attempting to troll you. Didn't work. Quote
Oh Malley Posted September 29, 2011 Report Posted September 29, 2011 Ephraim, had you been some person I have never met before and just been an on-line entity, then maybe I would've taken you as a troll. However, since that is not true, I do at least know you somewhat and therefore do not equate you with troll like tendencies. Quote
MasterP Posted September 29, 2011 Report Posted September 29, 2011 When you were around, console expansion was orderly and its growth exponential. No offense to anyone else, but when you look at the club's growth curve you can definately tell when you stepped aside. That e^(x) curve became an x/20 line. Quote

I'll let that be the mark of my legacy then. It's especially notable coming you. Quote
Kuros Posted October 31, 2011 Report Posted October 31, 2011 Oh Malley and Trebushae were the best console leaders the club ever had. /thread Back in the day we tried (or at least I did) to encourage growth on equal fronts for PCs and consoles. It's sad to see that leadership since I left hasn't really cared much for the devices that they don't play. I was never a console gamer but I knew that it had huge growth potential for the club so I tried my best to lay a foundation for console gamers while attempting to keep PCs fresh (which is really *edited*ing hard when everyone always voted for boring Counter-Strike). Oh Malley Posted November 1, 2011 Report Posted November 1, 2011 Hence why I provided my opinion on how to help build up the PC presence back on campus.. but not much has been done about it. Quote
GregoryNet Posted June 16, 2025 Report Posted June 16, 2025 In a game where teamwork and strategy reign supreme, do you think the rise of individual skill and flashy plays is undermining the core essence of Counter-Strike 1.6? How do you feel about players who prioritize personal accolades over team success? Quote
