Bitey Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 AWP + Camping = not hard to get a score like that, when you sit back and are nearly impossible to get to cause all your team mates get killed first and wear the enemy down then its simple for you to pick them off. People know my strategy, I rush, pretty much all the time, the only person I know who rushes more than me is Falcon. And I have gotten scores like this, I usually have more deaths but I don't really care, winning is winning lol. So what I am trying to say is I think I sleep better at night simply because if I kill you, you don't feel anywhere near as bad as when someone AWPs you. Quote

rainefardreamer Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 old pics are old, i haven't used SS in a while... and i've seen better plus the maps are tides, awptec and nuke, if you have a good team and are decent, there is no reason you can't pwn i die a lot, so it makes mine less impressive, but i've gone 36-4 on contra, 36-12 on dust2 and i'm sure i've had a ridiculous round on nuke, it's easy to do well, i've seen sephy go 54-10 or something on tides with duelies and a mac10, so if you awped even 1 round, you still lose to that shenanigans Quote

That and most of the good regular's of the server were on for either of the maps. Quote

I mean he had to be on the bad team. Also the awp thing makes me mad cause i want to c others do it with the awp then say its easy to do. Bitey Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 Triple post FTL, lucky you know I can AWP I just can't stand the gun I think it is cheap and feel cheap when I get a kill with it, I feel glorified when I get a kill with a scout, the AWP is overpowered and overused, now I know people say just smoke, well you know what I have smoked before and I still get AWP'd it is a versatile weapon I dont have 50 smokes to throw, I get 1, if you throw a smoke a smart Awper will back up and look for another angle, hell I bet even a player with common sense would do that. Either way, I think I do rush just as much or more than renton and number 5, I only said I know that falcon rushes more than me. Anyways my point is I feel a lot better not using the AWP but its ok I can understand why stat *edited*s would want to use it, or people just looking for an easy kill, it doesn't take long to learn how to use it. Learning curve on it is less than the scout, since with the scout you have to get a hs for a one shot kill where as you can kill them with the AWP if you shoot anywhere upper body. Quote
MasterP Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 Bitey is correct. Most of his comments about the AWP cannot be refuted, so agreeth someone with a longstanding reputation of AWPing. Hell I even have a t-shirt about AWPing. The AWP is overused but as I've said in the past you can very easily flank one and they are mediocre at best at close range. Sure you can get a lucky shot every now and then but the majority of the time you're going to win if you flank an AWP with an M16 or AK. You may not be able to easily outflank good AWPers but the majority of them should fold quickly. Btw, I hate using AWP in tournament play. When we played at AppLAN I wasn't going to use the AWP at all but got AWPed the first round and decided to counter that retardedness by AWPing the entire team (yes entire) the next round. Their guy tried to outAWP me but decided to quit trying after 3 or 4 rounds of failing at it. The AWP worked well there because their team was made of epic fail but in general having an AWP puts your team down a player because you have to camp in the back. Some maps allow for this, other don't. Generally if I do take an AWP I try to rush with it and at least stick with my team when they engage. Quote
Bitey Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 Definitely, I played CAL and I noticed that this is definitely true, 1 AWPer means a team member down, the main issue I think I am having is when there are 6 AWPs on one team, you can imagine how this would be for office, I know, I was there, it was bad. Anyways, there is also the issue of close-mid-range value with the AWP, I would say the average player can't handle it, but some of the better ones, lucky, ellaine, bloodlust, and some others, are indeed able to handle it close range, again the AWP is definitely a versatile weapon when used correctly. Even still I think it is a huge part of the game and should not be taken out, just limited . Anyways this has now gotten off topic.... Quote
Falcon Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 though most of my knife rushes aren't successful, i had perhaps the most satisfaction one time on dust2 when i rushed straight up the middle to t spawn carrying only a knife, knifed a camping awper, and proceeded to use the stolen awp to tear apart the rest of the team. in that sense i didn't feel cheap using the awp, any other time i kinda do... but that was immensely rewarding since it started with only a knife. PM#5 tends to stick to a set rushing path with each map, and even though you know it's coming, you sometimes can't stop it. Bitey is a bit more tricky with his rushing. He'll come from places you either don't expect, or don't think he can get to in the time that he does... Quote
