Those in attendance voted unanimously on the following: -The next LAN will be held on May 2, 2009. -It will be held in the UC Grand Room. -More than one game will be hosted. -Food and drinks will be served. 7:34 PM Those in attendance were asked for suggestions on potential prizes: -Wal Mart gift cards -Gamestop gift cards -Controllers -Other internet related point cards -Shamwow -Mystery date with the club's Secretary 7:39 PM There were nominations for PC Tournaments to be held at the next LAN: -Counterstrike: Source -Team Fortress 2 -Left 4 Dead -Unreal Tournament 3 -Counterstrike 1.6 Because so few games were nominated, those in attendance were asked to vote on whether or not all the nominated games should be hosted: Yes-18 No-9 All nominated PC games will be hosted at then next LAN. 7:44 PM There were nominations and voting for Console Tournaments to be held at the next LAN: -Street Fighter 4 (14) -Super Smash Bros. Brawl (14) -Soulcalibur 4 (12) -Halo 3 (12) -Gears of War 2 (11) -Super Smash Bros. Melee (11) -Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 (9) -Call of Duty 4 (8) -Halo Wars (8) -Halo: Combat Evolved (7) -Killzone 2 (7) -Burnout Paradice (5) -Mario Kart 64 (5) -Mario Kart Wii (3) -Project Gotham Racing 4 (3) -Grid (2) -Resident Evil 5 (2) -Metal Gear Solid 4 (1) -Gears of War (1) -Left 4 Dead (0) 8:00 PM There was a discussion on how to finalize the Console Tournaments. The results: Fighters: -Soulcalibur 4 -Street Fighter 4 Shooters: -Gears of War 2 -Halo 3 Miscellaneous: -Super Smash Bros. Brawl -Super Smash Bros. Melee *Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 (This tournament is tentative and will only be played if time permits.) 8:13 PM Those in attendance were asked if there were any other issues to discuss: -Joshua Schwartz suggested that console tournaments be limited to two per console. -Audyo suggested using some form of software (especially Excel) to form tournament backets. -Kip suggested having LAN attendees state which tournaments they which to play as they sign in at the front desk. -Nickname suggested forcing LAN attendees to fill out the registration page so we have their e-mail contact info. -Colin suggested hosting more retro tournaments at future LANs. -Tallgeese echoed Josh's suggestion of limiting the number of tournaments on each console. -Felix complained about the lack of freeplay at the last LAN. -Kip suggested splitting the role of the Marketing Administrator into two positions (PC and Console). 8:22 PM The meeting was adjourned. Note: After the meeting, several executives got together and formed a tentative schedule for the next LAN: 2:00 PM - Melee 3:00 PM - Gears 2 3:30 PM - Soulcalibur 4 5:30 PM - Street Fighter 4 7:00 PM - Halo 3/Brawl *10:00 PM - Marvel vs. Capcom 2 The order for the PC tournaments has been determined. All of those games are on the free LAN accounts we had at the last LAN and all of them can be very easily preloaded from a local server ahead of time. That alone would help alot as anyone with a computer could get and play them for free.
